the future of the common wildflower

I am looking forward to getting my body back. Long runs in the mornings and walks in the evenings with the dogs in the dappled autumn light. Maybe a yoga class or two. Actually eating the healthy contents of my fridge instead of throwing it all away because I have no time to cook it. I’m looking forward to Saturday morning lie-ins followed by a long lazy lunch somewhere nice. Or maybe a trip to a market or a day by the sea. I’m looking forward to rejection to make me appreciate the yes’. I am looking forward to writing more and talking less. There are so many empty notebooks to fill and piles of books to read. A garden to ready for winter. People to meet who are stimulating and stimulated. I’m looking forward to more passion; to heated discussions and feeling uncomfortable. To sticking to my guns but also giving in a little, and remembering to always, always, let go. I’m looking forward to growth and wonder. Seeing old friends again and a road trip or three. Seeing more of my family and less of strangers. To weekend getaways and exploring all the beauty right on my doorstep. I’m looking forward to sharing this beauty and bringing more and more people to this area I call home.

Six more sleeps.
