So, a little update on life. I have many, many, many things to blog about, but in typical Keri-style, I am not posting about any of them today. This is because I am currently suffering from a severe case of perfectionism and I am still editing all of them (some for the fourth time). They’re probably fine. But I’m not into fine at the moment. I’m into freaking fabulous.

Clik here to view.Things lately have been good. Busy, but good. There is so much happening in my life. So many good things. So much change. SO much opportunity. And soooo much hard work ahead. I’m thinking of making a little office in the abandoned fisherman’s cottage on the other side of the farm, and locking myself in there to write, write, write. No telly, no wifi, no fridge – just me and the blank page. Or screen – my fingers can’t write with pens anymore. I need to sit down and get it all out, but time is so limited at the moment. The day job is keeping me busy and next week our friend, Maria, from the UK is coming to stay (please, please let the sun shine or her little heart will break). Isn’t it funny how just when you’re super busy all the best opportunities come your way? I feel like I’m on a roller coaster at the moment. A good roller coaster, but still a roller coaster. Like I’m gonna love/hate every second of it and then beg to get back on for another ride when it’s over. In the midst of this madness, I keep needing to remind myself to breathe. And do yoga. Have you seen Che’s headstand on Instagram? It is heeeeectic. I’m jealous – I’ve been doing yoga on and off for many years now and have never even thought about attempting a head stand. I WILL try one tonight at home (and probably pull a neck muscle). Thanks for the inspiration Che.

Clik here to view. We’ve started a little veggie garden. So far we have planted two lime trees, some basil, rocket, chilli, cabbage and lettuce. I bought a brilliant gardening book last week with my birthday money called Jane’s Delicious Garden (good god, I never thought that last sentence would be typed from these fingers) and it is really, really great. There is a recipe in there for making your own organic pesticide – how cool? It involves a lot of Canola Oil.

Clik here to view.Last night we went out for dinner at Il Postinos with two other couple friends of ours. The boys sat on one side of the table and spoke about dream rugby teams or some
rubbish thing. Us ladies sat on the other side and had such a nice long catch up. There was talk of nipple shields, reiki and Oscar Pistorious. Aren’t uncensored chinwags with your girl friends just the best thing?

Clik here to view.Speaking of nipple shields, there is a lot of baby pressure out there at the moment. Can you feel it? Maybe it’s because I live in a small town. Cape Town/London/Jozi ladies – are you getting it as bad as me? Come on people, I just bought a gardening book. That’s enough growing up from my side for 2014.

Clik here to view.Anyway. That’s pretty much my life at the moment. Oh, Marmite is still alive and well. He is living in the field next to our house with another bull calf whom Andy is grooming to be the biiiiiiig baby daddy of the farm. Marmite’s future still lies in the balance. On Monday he gets dehorned and possibly de-balled. It’s gonna be an emotional day for him, so please keep him in your thoughts. The other evening Andrew and I were watering the plants in our new veggie garden. The dogs were snuffling around the lawn and Abby Cat was jumping up and down tree trunks (she is such a show off). I looked up and then down towards the driveway and in my field of vision, all at once, were three dogs, a cat, Marmite and Melrose, four horses and a herd of Nguni cattle – all dappled together in early evening sunshine. It was beautiful. I probably should have taken a photograph, but I didn’t. I tapped Andrew on the shoulder so that he looked up and saw what I saw. He was quiet, but I knew that he knew that we both knew that that very moment would be up there with our best ones.
